Normandy cottages, Farmhouse renovation

Relaxing, green and tranquil:
The Normandy cottages, Farmhouse renovation are in a spacious pretty setting with good views. Our hamlet, called Les Bruyeres, is near the village of Igé.
Lovely Bellême (www.lepaysbellêmois.com) is five minutes away, Alençon and Le Mans are near.

The two Normandy cottages have been tastefully developed within an 18th century farmhouse and can be rented together or separately. They are called La Joanne and La Chouette. The property as a whole includes our house and is called La Bruyère - this is the name at the entrance.

The house has a lot of charm due to the original features (beams, stone, tiles) whilst at the same time being well-equipped and comfortable.

Each has two bedrooms (both with shower-room)and sleeps 4 - 5 people. The entrances are separate and face opposite ways, making for privacy.

Both have plenty of light and space. In La Joanne the living area is divided into kitchen/dining and separate sitting room whereas in La Chouette kitchen, dining and sitting are all in one large room.

Facilities

La Joanne:

Light and airy dining room and kitchen (fitted with washing machine, dishwasher, cooker,microwave and fridge).
French window onto own patio.

Cosy living room (with DVD player, sofa, armchairs, log fire) gets afternoon and evening sunlight.


Upstairs bedroom has lovely view across courtyard and beyond and also a walk in clothes cupboard. The bed can be king size double or two singles.


Upstairs shower room is roomy and again has a nice view. Between the bedroom and shower room there is space for a supplementary single bed if needed.



Downstairs bedroom looks onto the orchard. Bed can be double or two singles. Shower-room for this bedroom opposite.





La Chouette:
Similar facilities to La Joanne except the kitchen and living space are in one large room and the upstairs shower room is a little smaller.

La Chouette faces the sunny courtyard.

Its upstairs bedroom is a particularly nice room with original beams and a lovely view. There is a double and single bed in this room.

Outdoor facilities: As well as the patio/courtyard and barbecue, gîte guests have the use of the grounds with ample play space including plunge pool, swings, volleyball/badminton and boules areas. There is a big car parking space at the entrance.

The B&B option

This option is available all year except July and August.
Because you are housed in one of our Normandy cottages(usually La Chouette) you have more space, facilities and privacy than a standard B&B room.

Prices are £45 or £40 according to the room per night for two, including breakfast. Evening meals available(to be booked in advance): £15 or £12 (3 or 2 courses wine and coffee inc)

B&B includes use of tea/coffee-making, micro-wave and fridge facilities. Where both rooms are booked, use of log fire and DVD player is an optional extra. Breakfast is served in the main house.

Supplementary beds: The upstairs rooms can cater for a third person at £10 /£14 for an adult or £5/£7 for a child under 10, depending on the room.
A cot can also be made available

Pets: Pets are taken subject to special arrangement
